Urban Park in Ferrara (IT)

Greenery becomes urban thus combining connectivity and redevelopment
This “planning concept” aims at maximizing the relationship between existing residential areas and green spaces. This is possible with the new urban space acting as a connection between two otherwise separate parts of the city due to railroad tracks. The redefinition of new green spaces conveys the clear and significant willingness to deal directly with social premises, thus inviting citizens to travel and traverse large green spaces to reach new cultural facilities that will complement the colourful cultural landscape of Ferrara. Furthermore, this urban design takes into account the need for parking spaces, often underground or below street level, so as to minimize environmental impact, and a new residential area that will be designed according to the principles of sustainable architecture and green building.
